About Me

Growing up, I was fortunate enough to take some pretty great family vacations. Alaska, Colorado, California and of course... what kid doesn’t dream of Disney World? As I grew, my travel ambitions did too. I was born in Vidalia, Georgia. I grew up there and Birmingham, Alabama. While I was in college studying at the University of Georgia, my family settled in Augusta, Georgia, and I ended up there for my Masters degree in Business Administration, and stuck around after graduation.

As I began my career in real estate, I became a big believer in the saying “if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life”. I absolutely love real estate, all of it; working with buyers and sellers, renovation and owning rental property. One of my favorite things about my career path, is that every day is different than the day before, I’m never bored and always up for a challenge. I meet amazing people and get to be a part of something truly important for each of them.

I’ve lived in the Augusta area since 2007 and I’ve loved every minute of it. It’s just big enough to have all the great restaurants and amenities... let’s face it, this is a travel blog... I need an airport nearby! But it’s also small enough that I run into someone I know, almost everywhere I go in town.

The more I travel, the more I’m amazed by how much more there is to see! While I’ll never be able to see it all, I’m certainly willing to try! With my career and travel both being a priority in my life, I’ve had to make sure they can coexist. The world of WiFi has certainly made this so much more practical. I’ve written contracts from a tent in Kenya and negotiated deals from Australia. Traveling makes me appreciate everything and everyone around me. It makes me feel connected to the people I’m adventuring with, and also gives me a chance to realize how much I miss the ones at home... four-legged friends included. And travel even makes me feel more connected to the people that are no longer with us. My mom passed away in 2015, and I feel closest to her when I’m on a trip and taking the time to appreciate a new place.
